Default wanted Chestnut or Kastanie corn

does any one have a Chestnut or Kastanie corn male? i dont mind the age. or if you know any one that is breeding some this year

do you mean kistache? if so, there wont be many here i dont think.
there are some for sale in the states, but thats not always easy to get from.

maybe. i was relying on eeji on this info so it could be wrong.
its to breed with an amel.

i may be wrong, there may well be some here being bred as we speak.
they are actually really cheap in the states, although i dont think they are pure corns, or there were tests going on.. something like that.

i wanted to breed it with a amel to get manderins. i may be wrong. but i thought that was the way to go about it. i hate genetics

Nope, there's a recessive gene called Kastanie (AKA "Chestnut" in English) - I think the originals were first named in Germany.

It's a trait much like the apparently dominant trait "Buff" - it increases the yellow colouration of the animals.

Danica, you might not be able to find Kastanie OR Buff over here - Hamm/Houten is probably your best bet.

And crossing a Kastanie to an Amel will get you normals het for Kastanie and Amel; crossing a Buff to an Amel will get you normals het for amel and Buffs het for Amel ("Orange").

The faster route to the colouration is probably buying an Orange (Amel Buff) - you'd expect some first-generation Orange offspring

actually, now that you say that, i was on ians forum and he had a guy on there showing off a few pics of this 'buff' stuff.. i dont know much about it,but yeah i think he is in europe,
