Hi Jenny.
![]() A pure corn snake rarely reaches 6ft, and to do so it would have to be getting on in years. Also a 6ft snake eating just medium size mice does not figure correctly either. If it really is 6ft, and according to Nutty, used to living with other males until breeding time, it sounds like it would expect to have a mate to breed with at breeding time, and with no female present, there is only your male which is smaller, and that could be stressed out, terrified and unable to get away, and because it is trapped, could be raped repeatedly whilst you sleep soundly in your bed, which for me is a very daunting thought, and I'm sure not something you would wish on your present pet. Of course if the corn is really 6ft and young, then it could be a cross, and then its anyones guess as to what it might be or how much bigger it could get, and if it has any cannibalistic traits in it. There are many viruses out there too, amongst the snakes, some are deadly, and so any wise person would quarantine their new snake in a different viv for a set period of time first anyway, before even letting them meet up. Jenny, at the end of the day it will be your decision, but I do hope that if you go ahead with this transaction, or another else where, that you will have another viv on stand by just in case. Good luck to you and you existing corn snake. Please tread very carefully as Nutty does seem to be rather pushy, and that in it's self would concern me somewhat.Mo. ![]()
