I'm coming to newquay in the next couple of weeks, and could maybe pick one of these guys up, would they be ok to travel the 5 hour journey back?

It shouldn't be a problem as long as they dont come in direct contact with the sunlight in your car and also make sure they ae not packed away preventing air getting to them.
Should be ready by the time you come down here.
