the reason I ask is because they look like tarahumara mountain kingsnakes from mexico to me, but I believe they are also found in southern north america so could have different common names but be the same snake.

These are almost certainly NOT knoblochi. They have far too few triads and the bands are too far apart. True knoblochi are easy to distinguish especially when viewed from the side - the lower parts of the white bands usually join in some way or other, often as a chain link effect, as they meet the ventral scales. I would guess that - as is quite common nowadays - these animals are of mixed ancestry between the varieties (or subspecies depending which authority you go with) woodini and pyromelana.

When I get a bit more time I'll post some pics of some of my true knoblochi to illustrate my point. But for now take a look at the individuals Jerry Cole has for sale (BJ Herps):

Tarahumara Mountain Kingsnake Male

Cheers,

Rob

Only trying to help clarify what they are - as you stated you were not sure and someone else seemed to think (incorrectly) that they were knoblochi. You said yourself you don't think they are what you bought them as. It's probably best to avoid the same thing happening to someone else.
