DWA goes on scientific names, so even though it's had it's bits removed its still Naja kaouthia, that doesn't change!
Also as Fixx has said if it breeds it WILL produce venomous cobras. DarkDan99, I notice you say you wanted it for talks/shows, would you really want to take a cobra functional or not to a public display? I don't think you'd get insurance, and if you did would it be wise, possibly detrimental for the hobby? It's good to educate people about snakes, but it's not necessary for a UK citizen to need to know what NOT to step on when out walking! Even when filming venomous snakes in the UK (for TV/Film) they are only allowed to have snakes that anti venom is readily available and waiting at the hospital! Also Guys are on stand by for any alert, once filming is over they have to be contacted to stand down again. Even though it's not venomous wouldn't matter, it's STILL Naja sp. therefore potentially deadly. I believe the quote in your sig is Brian Fry talking about a bite to a student from a Slow Loris? Lol, it made me chuckle.
