£50 for an albino chequered is quite reasonable, especially if it is an adult. CPR have them in at £139, to give you an idea of price.

never mind. i see the pic on the link. he is very nice. is he tame? would it cost to deliver?

I would wait until the thamnophis.com forum camping trip, Adelle. Gives you loads of time to gather more information and get to know the people who will sell the snake/s to you. They are a lovely bunch.
