Are they northerns? they look it.

btw... crappy thermometer... hope you have digital

And another thing, the thermostat probe should be on the top perch, not the bottom. As they spend most of their time at the top... and dont tie it directly to the perch, as if they sit on it, it will heat it up... then you dont have a correct reading

Carefull they dont stick their head through the gaurd, gaps look big - could be the pics...

jesus christ mate! i have had 10 e.t.bs and 4 basins in my time i know how to set it up! i have a digital thermometer in it! i use the stick on therms and hydro's just for a quick glance! that probe you see is monitoring background temprature as that ceramic is there to keep general temp in their viv up, there is a seperate spot bulb the other end and also their head is over twice the size of the wholes on the guard!

just because you keep them doesnt mean you keep them well

Can i ask then.. why do they have 2 hot ends :S

Also if they are for a quick glance, whats the point... digital with a probe is easier to read right? and exo terra shitty things are well out.

because it aint too hot ends you fool! grrrr my room is too cool for the cool end to be left as it is, so i have a cermamic keeping that ends temp at 75 F and the other end is 90 F and you are a cheeky sod 'DONT KEEP THEM WELL!' EVERY ONE ALWAYS COMMENTS HOW WELL MY REPS ARE KEPT AND THEY ARE KEPT PERFECT! plus the ceramic isnt over the branch, it is set at the very front of the viv! They therm and hydro are there because i want them to be there ok! i have them in every tank i have!

Whats the point mate?

Clearly from other peoples comments the set up is pretty good! There isn't two hot ends...there is a ceramic to maintain the background temp of the viv (75 o F) and a spot bulb to produce a basking spot of 90 o F!
