Lol...There not that far out, I use the Fluke temp gun and when i shoot it at my Heat gauges the temp is pretty similar.

i use wet towels for a substrate during the day. the heat pad warms it up nicely during the day and when i take them out in the evening the humidity drops the way i like it. plus i alway have a clean cage...
