I don't know why but this gave me a crazy idea to handle mine, i only got bit once in the space of 10 minutes so were rather happy, do you think if i wear to start handling it on a weekly basis it would do damage to the snake?

i dont tihnk it would damage the snake unless you drop it. to tame the male i did lots of things - this is actually the first time i held him without having the hook around for control.
touch him when you go into the cage. I stroke mine and poke them or whatever to get that contact and get them use to being touched and nothing bad happening, other than food, a spray, a clean or water on the way.
i only handle mine when i have to - however, you could easily tame it without handling it(unless its needed) simply by touching or picking up part of the body when the snake is in its cage

I actually love the tree boas, and the Amazons are such pretty delicate snakes. Nice to know some have a sweet nature!!

I remember Habu once posted a youtube (or something) video of a girl in the US who had really tame ETBs - beautiful calm snake it was just hanging all over her and docile as anything. Maybe if he sees this thread he might post it again.

amazon basin emeralds are meant to be very calm and friednly snakes - they are also the biggest etb locality
