Thanks for the comments guys.

I survey for the wildlife trusts although I've been moving about for the last few years so never seem to have any continuity. Hopefully I'm settled for a bit now so I should get some better shots this year.

nice one, im thinking of volenteering in our area, theres a few reptile conservation groups near us

The picture of the grass snake is a great shot. I don't like the adders though. They look like they are in a black mood and want to do damage to someone/thing.

Adders DO actually look constantly angry then!

Reminds me of watching 'Animals of Farthing Wood' when I was younger!

Gorgeous pictures, and that must be a very interesting job.
