Fish! Garters are fish eating snakes This is smelt (if my online translator thingy is correct) but they will eat loads of kinds of fish. Live fish can be given also, goldfish and such.

They'll eat other foods aswell though, mice need getting used to and some won't ever eat them. Other foods can be raw chicken, earthworms, (canned or soaked dry) cat food, amphibians, chicken's heart.. they're quite easy when it comes to eating

Beautiful garter, i have easterns, they all eat pinks, with earthworms and the odd prawn as a treat.

yeah, I like them, garters.
They are very nice snakes, nice size, beautiful colour and well eaters.
I wonder why they are not popular in my country. They should be more..
How`s that smell of poo like? Does it stink by their foods? (fishes, cat food, mice etc) Sorry for this bad word, but I think they are stolen their popularity by corn, king snakes.
I think garter snakes are good animal as a pet.

Their poo smells, big time. But somehow I've never noticed her enclosure smelling like it! It doesn't bother me at all.
