The first thing WE did when we got them was separate them - they've been living in separate housing for the last six months. And it's a good thing, too... because the female's just surprised us with a litter of at least seven babies. Next time I want to KNOW when the female's been bred. Now, keeping two males or two females together... maybe. Also: Mamake, the female, is as placid as can be - she's normally absolutely lovely and inquisitive. However, this morning she had a proper go at me... because she wasn't keen on me messing with her or the babies. That said, their mouths are relatively small for their size, and if you're careful about finding them under the substrate with something that ISN'T your hand, you can usually pick them up once they've had that first 'is it food' thrash at you.
