no seriously. Let it autofocus for now until you get some time to play with it.
If you want to have more of the picture in focus try a smaller aperture setting. To do this set it to A and there should be a number when you look through the lens the smaller it is the slower the shutter speed will be but it will bring more of the pic into focus.

If you want to focus on just one part of the pic then set it to have a higher speed and smaller aperture.

I could never be bothered to read my manual so all my photos including long distance ones are took in macro lol.

cheers people...
tops i will have a crack at it tomorrow...
gotta go see the bank to see if they will re-mortage the house to pay the battery costs for these things!!!! four aa batts = 10 mins shoot time!!!

well i sat on my camera and broke the lcd screen so i cant see to change the settings now but if i remember rightly its set on auto with macro turned on too.

I bought loads of rechargable batteries from pound land, four in a pack, and they last around one week in my nikon with flash on too.

What camera is it? I don't care how expensive a camera is, it can be the best model in the world, but the person behind the camera is what truley matters.

The most important part of any camera is the 12 inches behind it.
