Default A year in the life of a big green monster!

We aquired Sweetpea the Argentine longnose (Philodryas baroni) sometime in October last year, can't quite remember exact dates.

She was a non feeder, whereas her male counterpart was ferocious. Unfortunatley he died due to an enlarged heart and that left us with Miss Pea. She has blossomed into one of the prettiest snakes I have ever seen. Shes very calm for this species due to my constant handling of her, and has never shown a hint of aggression despite being a rear fanged snake.

Both myself and my partner just adore her. Shes his favourite and frequently gets a fuzzy or two "to cheer her up" (Ed's own words) when shes not even due fed. Perhaps thats why shes a 5ft yearling? :grin01:
You will notice the photography getting better as I go through her progression LOL

Here she is the day she arrived, an 11 inch mighty green worm!

A few months later

Around 7 months old

9 months

10 months

12 months old

And finally, 14 months old, Sweetpea is a big green monster! Shes getting lots of lovely blue colouration around her head, and her belly is lovely and pink! I can't wait to see how this girl progresses throughout the years. She will be a 7ft monster in no time! It's kinda scary actually, shes getting no more food... ever!
