He is a beautiful animal, the pictures really do not do him justice.

He was born in 2005, and is very small for a two year old rock python, but someone apparently has claimed he is or could be Python sebae natalensis, the dwarf subspecies.

I will try to do some research to properly identify him, maybe by scale counts.

I also had a pair about 15 years ago, the male reached about 14 feet and was probably the friendliest snake I've owned. The female was somewhat smaller at 9 feet and had a 'dodgy' temperament. Not exactly aggressive, but definately not friendly.

Unfortunately, the male escaped in the garage in winter and froze to death overnight.

Python natalensis - It was upgraded to full species status a while back. Also take the dwarf part lightly, they can still grow to around 15ft

The afrock in your pics looks fine, not skinny at all

The size doesn't bother me, I'm just interested in identifying him,

He fed yesterday no problem, just placed a large mouse in his viv and away he went. Had another mouse from a corn that refused and he took that one too.

Missed the bit about being upgraded to full species. Been out of the hobby for around six years, just got back into it this year so that bit of news passed me by.
