I beg to differ. Just because an image has been posted on the internet does not mean it is fair game for all to use, even if it does not carry a copyright symbol.

An introduction to copyright
Copyright is the right to permit or prohibit copying.
This right is recognised in international treaties around the world, on the Internet as well as all other media.
The way that copyright law works, in practice, is very complex and subtle so it is essential to get detailed, expert advice on each individual case. The idea, however, is beautifully simple. Here is a quick guide to the history of copyright in the UK.
History
The basic UK legislation is around 200 years old. It was produced in response to a technological threat posed by the rapid proliferation of the new copying technology of engraving. The legislation was pushed through parliament as a result of intense lobbying by William Hogarth, one of Britains leading artists at the end of the 18th Century. He had worked long and hard to achieve his status as an artist and satirist, and was angry to see inferior copies of his work being sold in large quantities, for which he received no payment. The first UK copyright legislation was guided by principle that:
  • it was in the general interest that people keep creating new interesting works in the arts and sciences
  • people would not create these works without some guarantee that their efforts would be rewarded
  • the best way to do this was to give them an exclusive right to their own work
  • so anyone else, wishing to exploit their work, would have to reward them for it.
Under UK copyright law, you are automatically the owner of copyright in any work you produce, be it poems, stories, pictures or sculptures. This right is subject to contract so that it is assumed, for practical purposes, that the rights to all the work you produce 'during the course of employment' belongs to your employer.

I am on no high horse, I am merely correcting the wrong information that was posted. I am no guru, I know VERY little about this species from personal experince, but I do know how to correctly identify pacific boas as I have studied and researched them enough.

It's no big deal, but when someone blatantly claims I am wrong, when I KNOW I am right, I will justify my reasoning (as you can see) and not back down.

Not only were his replies to my posts snappy, but also to Denise and other members when they highlighted mistakes/issues...

well everyone can be a bit snappy when they are feeling attacked and people do tend to reply in the tone of the post they are replying too.

yes the examples shown are uk examples but you have to admit for morphs and availablity america is streets ahead, you name it royals, corns the list goes on.

i think the word attacked is what is actually being used here to justify specific repsonses...

attacking someone i do not think could be considered as justifiably correcting them... it could be considered.... verbally or physically abusing them... or having a pointless personal dig etc...

i tried to find that within this post and failed..

however what i did not fail at was to become wildly confused on page 4... where my head fell off my shoulders and rolled down a steep hill named confusion...

right just ticked off the misses. She can never leave alone lol. fighting my battles for me.

My intention when starting this thread was to show off some stunning snakes. I got two males viper boas from athravan a few months back and I feel in love. The misses does not like them she is into her wriggley worms otherwise known as corns. So I was showing some pictures I found, I should have credited the pictures I was at no point saying the snakes were mine or that I was an expert.

As I have said I only got into viper boas a few month back, what the anery is remains a mystery but with some many species and subspecies it can be easy to make mistakes. After all we are all human.

the husbandy is quite simple. Not to hard to get normals but I am not having much look getting hold of any morphs at the minute. Just have to keep my eyes peeled.

I got mine from Darren Biggs (Black n Red male) and the female (Super Red) from a European importer (UKBobs friend) from Hamm show, in Sept 07. I even have her collection locality LOL.

I have had a kind of success breedign them (Red male to an Orange female)... I got 1 baby, which unfortunatley died on day 6. I dont think even the worst husbandary in the world could kill it that quickly, so assume it was something not right internally. To say I was gutted is an understatment.....
I will however try again, and hopefully have better success with my second breeding attempt.

I have kept Vipers for 3yrs now and have tried to keep temps of water, cage, dates etc.. from my Viper breeding attempts.
