keep working with him! glad he's comming around. one tip if i may, always let give him a chance to know that it is you when first getting him out, that cut down on mistakes. also don't dilly dally around when picking him up, like presenting your hand if front of him, it only looks like a hot mammal to him. always be deliberate when picking him up, never give a snake a chance to think about thinks, you set the pace. they should have a "WTF!" reaction, that distracts them. clean hands, no face or breath in their face. support the snake, don't HOLD it. be relaxed, they seem to sense tension. hold it like it's a rubber snake...you are not all OH! OH!, with a rubber snake are you? i mean, you're not all freaked out when you hold a rubber snake are you? all of this applies to anyone handling snakes. i have a big emmy that i guarantee will ruin your weekend if you let her, i know, i slipped up once, but i can hold her and to anyone looking, she seems like a sweetheart! it's good your snake was a little snappy, it teaches you. everyone needs to know how to handle a less than dog-tame snake...a feisty tree boa will make an expert snake handler out of anyone. again, congrats! keep up the good work!! you have to because a vicious burm is almost unacceptable and dangerous!

every day or so. just don't be a stranger. that's all. enjoy him and at the same time he's getting desensitised to you. i mean, what if you were locked in a room for weeks on end then suddenly, a bunch of people came in and dragged you out? it would be kinda freaky. but if they came over all the time.....it would be no big deal. get my drift? familiarity is the key. like most dogs, snakes bite out of fear not because they are mean. how do you get over a fear?.....you face it.

i understand that. i just dont wanna miss a day or two and have him revert back. however. i have been told they stay in feeding mode for an unusually long time. am i likely to be mistaken for food the next day... . also, ive been told strike feeding is not advised. which is understandable considering i wont be the one holding the day old pig trying to get him to strike it when he is all grown up. (if he gets that big)
