Thanks for your comments. My Chondro is a captive bred specimen which seems to account for his milder nature. Although a very experienced herp keeping friend of mine insists "As long as he thinks you're a stick you will be alright". In addtion I only handle him dureing the day and fairly infrequently, although I always remove him on his perch for general viv maintenance, without any problem.
Rooney started off as a bright yellow neonate, and as you can see, at just over a year old, he appears to be gaining alot of his adult coloring, although as with a majority of Biaks', he still has alot of yellow on him.
Feeding is an experience not to be missed! He'll often strike and take outside the confines of the Viv, leaving some of his dinner on the tongs.
If anyone gets the chance, you should visit the reptile section of Marwell Zoo, where Jeff, the head keeper has a fantastic wc male adult Biak on display, who is untouchable and you would not believe the size!!!
