As was stated by someone else, how many native birds & reptiles had that one cat ate, this is a huge problem in Australia, this was not meant to shock but show a wild beautiful animal doing what it does best & to catch and kill a cat is a incredible feat & this all happened without human intervention. I understand this section is for snake photos maybe you should not look here. |

as with over here im under the belief that cats are a serious problem in Australia?
When a domestic animal takes on its "wild" characteristics of hunting the local wildlife then one day its going to find an animal it cant hunt. In the UK this isnt really a problem as we dont have any animals that could kill a cat except maybe a domestic dog. In Australia its bound to happen, when you have 10 feet long snakes that cats dont know when to leave alone things like this are going to happen. Im not an anti cat person but dont see how someone can come on here and say its cruelty because the cat probably was going for the snake in all honesty. Snakes are not the kind of animals to go looking for trouble, an injury could cost them their life, its not like they can drive to the vets and have it bandaged up. In my opinion, smokie had it coming to him |
