we tap train all our large constrictors, always a good idea regardless of their attitude, removes the moment when the vast majority of accidents happen.

Feeding oput fo the viv is not idea, it's not the best thing to do when they get big, to all our large snakes out of the viv = no chance of food again helps reduce the chances of a misunderstanding or accident. Hook comes in means snake is coming out /arms are coming in to do something which in turn means no food. This association means that food should not be a consideration.

I dont tap train mine. All i do is leave the door open for them to come out and explore when they are ready to do so.If i am feeding them i place their feeding boxes in front of the viv before i open the door.It has become a routine with me now and seems to work well.

As for hissing my male was over a year old before he stopped hissing all the time and he still hisses every now and again now.He is just over 6 foot long and around 18 months old.
