Default Just a question

Hello, I just wanted to ask, for my cali king, she was on two fuzzies a week. Would it be ok to go up to one rat pup? just wondering if it would be better going on to rats sooner rather than later?

A fully grown king wont be eating rats so no not really, its not necessary.
Only reason to push rats onto them really is when they are going to get to a size that requires bigger prey such as jumbo rats etc. That way you avoid throwing 6 or 7 fully grown mice down its throat every week, a bit costly!

An adult king will be fine on fully grown mice

As far as your saying now, i would move up to a small mouse, just ask to have a look in the pet store at the frozen ones and hand pick the right size ones for 'your' snake, am saying this as i've seen some ridiculous sizes for so-called small mice!

Just remember, something that has a widest part being no-more than 1 and a half your kings widest bit.

Hope this helps!

rats are far more nutrisious than mice.. mice are fine but like if ya have the option i would take rats,, anyways, yeah when yur constantly looking at your snake you dont realise how fast it grows, and moves up in food size.. so id say buy 2 fuzzies 2 small mice and 2 rat pups, and remember that when they are defrosted they will turn out smaller thn wen you see them frozen.
what i think goin from smallest to largest
fuzzie-pup/small mouse-rat fluff..
id say buy a few and see how it goes you will always be surprised at what a snake can eat =P i still am .. so get yourself to V&Vs for a wee look =) ..

all the besta luck man ,..
