Creamsicles are a cross between Great Plains and amel corns. However, Great Plains are a subspecies, P. guttata emoryi, so you would not get a proportion of North American Rats from her, as these are P. obsoleta.

'North American Rat Snake' is a generalisation for a mongrel of unknown american rat snake ancestry.

P. obsoleta is a classification that contains several subspecies, grey rat, texas rat, black ret, etc etc

Great Plains ratsnakes are Pantherophis emoryi or Elaphe emoryi - they are no longer considered a subspecies of Corn.

And the sense in which I use "North American Ratsnake" is exactly that - the animal is a North American snake whose ancestry cannot be defined more clearly than "all parent species were Pantherophis genus". I would call a hybridised Obsoleta-complex animal an "Obsoleta Rat" if I had to give it a name, but then I'd probably be calling that the generic North American Ratsnake name too.

However in a case of doubt - like "it looks like a creamsicle" - I would rather label it as the HYBRID animal than label it as a pure species. It's better that you get a mislabeled-as-hybrid questionable animal than a mislabeled-as-pure questionable animal.
