Yer no need to worry about the night temp drop here, the houses heating does that for me....

It's certainly around 86 near the bottom, but only mid 70's nearer the top.

So far the males sat on his branches up top and the female sits on the floor.
Everything Ive read says mid to high 80s maximum. Also a well known keeper or two has recommended the same

I keep one on a heat mat in an exo terra, where the lower areas are around 86 and the top is around 78. He thermoregulates as he see's fit but spends most time around the middle where its 80-82

My fave ATB site is Corallus.com if you didnt know about it already

Yeh, I read through that site when I first started researching, but closer to the time of getting them I read through 3 books all stating 90's so I guess thats the figure that stuck in my head.

Just checked temps again and give or take a few degrees there where they should be now.

Thanks for your help.

On another note....

Are any of yours in vivs yet? If they are what heating are you using?

I'm thinking along the lines of a reptile radiator or a ceramic bulb on a pulse stat at the moment. Leaning away from ceramic though as I hear they dry the air out faster.

Currently I house an Adult in a 60x45x60 she is heated with an overhead ceramic, with 75% of the mesh top covered to hold humidity and this seems to work well;

I have a younger male in a 45x45x60 which is heated using an overhead reptile rad in a homemade hood;

And a young male in a 30x30x45 on a mat

I did look into the AHS heaters but from what I can understand they don't seem much good for arboreal snakes as they have to be placed bottom or side, so the heat gradient isn't going to be as good as something on the top. AHS heaters are certainly something I will use with my royal or spotted pythons once I move them to vivs.

I have 30x30x45 vivs ready to go apart from heating and I want to buy heating that I can move into there new vivs as they get upgraded.

I haven't found this to be honest.. I have a 100w ceramic bulb running in my ATB's viv and I only spray once a day and still get a good humidity cycle. Different setups get different results I suppose, but with a waterbowl directly under the bulb and a second small one in the cool end I never drop below 60% humidity - and that's with Aspen. I suppose using orchid bark or something similar would raise the ambient humidity even further. I wouldn't rule out ceramics completely.

Thanks for the advice, there definitely still on the options lists, but I'm liking the reptile rads as there quite compact and can mount them inside then.

Ceramics would be tricky as I has exo terra vivs with the plastic bar across the top.

Mine are currently on Orchid bark, and with daily sprays the humidity is keeping up nicely.
