aww that sucks bout the mites i had them once in most ofm y snakes its so annoying but they finnaly went
just make sure everything is cleaned otherwise you might find some hatching a few weeks later and your back to square one.
My royal was soo laid back that she let me pick most of the off her with no problem i found soaking them done nothing, might not work with a 5foot boa though :S
