It's not hypocritical at all! All pets were once wild caught, but what's done is done so you might has well reap the benefits of what our ancestors have done, but I don't see why you would need to take a snake out of the wild nowadays- pet shops, classifieds and rescue centres are full of reps that need a good home. Why steal one from the wild?

I wouldn't go to china and steal a goldfish from a river, so why would I go down the woods and nick a grass snake?

anywho why not buy a captive bred pair you'll probably have to spend the amount one would cost on worming and treating for parasites not that i know how much they would cost lol

People who complain about others people giving their opinions shouldn't post on a forum

*slaps head*

Read my post, its something im planning during the summer. I.e. Breeding more of Slow worms and grass snakes to ensure that more are being put into the wild than they are at the moment. If i wanted a happy snake to just sit their and look pretty id go out and by a corn. If you believe im doing something wrong by attempting to make sure there are more wild grass snakes out there in the wild, especially when 99% of the babys including the adults will be released then their is something wrong.

Well they may not anyone with cb grass snakes or slow worms anywhere near him, im sure there was more than one person who caught corns/boas etc.... way back when.

I think catching wc reptiles is ok in some circumstances and not in others, if you can offer the reptile all it needs etc... then fine, but if the husbandry is too much for you to handle then dont, as its only gona end up badly for the reptile.

But back on topic........
