Default corn stopped eating

hey, i'm new here so sorry if i've posted in the wrong bit or anything!

my corn snake is about 4 years old, not exactly sure but around that age. she hasnt eaten her last few meals though, so just a bit worried. occassionally she won't want to eat if she's going to shed soon which i've heard is normal, but she hasn't shed so i don't think it's that.

anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong?

thanks very much

Have you tried checking the temps? or maybe she doesn't feel secure, check your temps, and leave her for a few days, the most you should do is change the water, don't get her out or disturb her in any way apart from changing the water, she may feel that she's gonna get picked up mid-meal and so not bother eating in the first place.

Hope it helps.

Ryan.

She may have just hit puberty. lol. At four years old her size should be good so I wouldn't worry about a few feeds. Have you tried braining her food? Or leaving it in with her all night?

Check her eyes first if there glazed over she's due to shed and she wont eat for a week or two.If not check the preys not to big , nothing wider than the widest part of the snake, if all fine try placing the prey in its hide over night. But most off all don't worry to much all snakes go off there food once & a while some of mine wont eat for month & then start eating normally just keep an eye on it.

a lot of males and a few females go off at this time of year simply because it is the breeding season.

Are you sure she's a she and not a he? Males go on hunger strikes around this time of year to get in shape for the ladies, have you ever had her probed? Because this could be the reason.

Remember, before snakes shed they go through two phases; the 'blue' stage and the clear stage. She could be in the clear stage.

But as others have said, make sure that she has lots of hides and cover. But if she goes off her food for a few weeks, no harm will be done.
