have just had to wrestle my baby common boa for a rat, he was trying to eat it sideways for about an hour and then just sitting there raped round it so i went to take the rat out and reheat it in warm water. not once did he try to eat me or mistak me for food so that was good but how are you ment to help them when they are like 7-8 ft.

you dont.
If you had left him to it he would have sorted it out and got it eaten. NEVER EVER put yourself between a snake and it's food unless absolutely necessary. If you'd have tried that with an adult it could have resulted in serious injury to you.

No seroiusly its best to leave em alone........doiesnt matter if they get blood on themselves you can always wipe it of with a damp cloth aftre the next two days .......plus they need to lear for themselves when they are eating somethign the wrong way..........they normally sort it out and its good for em to learn..... I agree......you should neevr ever come between a snake and its food esp something as large as a boa.......

My adult male black blood python was struggling to eat a guinnea pig last night. First he just had it in the middle then he tried to swallow it ass first, must have taken him 45 minutes to sort it out. Funny enough not once did I think about wrestling it off him. When your boa gets full size I don't think you'll be so keen to jump in and help him out.

I have an idea for a great came we can play.
You come round, we'll throw a giant rat into my 8ft Adult Coastal's viv, we'll count to 10, then try and get it out again! OK, OK, you twisted my arm, you can go first!
