Don't get me wrong, all snakes can, and indeed do bite.

However, there any MANY species of snake that are FAR more reluctant to bite than the ones mentioned.

I have gone with Burmese because I have met and kept more placid large examples of Burms than anything else - though I have known a couple of EXTREME exceptions to the rule.

The most placid individual large snake I have ever known was my female Retic Lessa but on average the Burmese have been more calm than the Retics I have known.

BTW should the poll not list "Common Boas" and "BCC" as "BCI" are Common Boas?

Mark

I went for retics.
I've not yet actually met a nasty one. I've heard about them, but never seen a really pissed off retic. Mine is only young, at the 4ft mark, but he is the calmest, tamest snake I own....

only seconded by my mahoosive boa male who is 7 and a half ft of gentle giant.

Wait! I just wrote a long reply, only to re-read the title.

I missed the word 'big'.

Although, you have missed out many of the Morelia.

Coastal's are among the most placid snakes going.
