Default Putting small MBK into 3ft viv?

Hey,

As u all know iv got a MBK, Hes about 3 months old now & is about 40cm Long.

Hes currently in a Faunarium set up, Hes always out of his cave exploring & trying to escape it...

Iv got a spare 3ft Viv at home, would it be ok to put him into it to give him more space to explore or would it just freak him out?

He'll be grand in athree foot viv. Just put a few hides in, create a sort of leaf litter on the floor of the viv, some branches and he'll be fine.

I don't get this whole "putting a small snake in a big viv will stress it out" snakes as hatchlings and juvies are already stressed out. What about when in the wild, the biggest viv going, as long as they have somewhere to retreat to and feel secure they'll do fine.

Post pics of the newly inhabited viv, if you decide to go for it.

Good luck

In the past when I've put baby snakes into their bigger vivs I usually put the tub inside the viv and leave the lid off or partially off and make sure there are plenty of hiding places in the viv and allow the snake to decide for itself, also perhaps letting the snake into the viv for a few minutes for a week or so each day might help, could get the snake used to it, after that just leave the lid off, let the snake decide and when you are comfortable that it is not stressed or anything by the new viv then just move him in permanantly. With the whole snakes get stressed thing its probably more down to individual differences with the animals than anything, some like to explore

hi...i have a MBK that is 10 months old and i`ve just this week put him into a spare 3 foot viv i had and he`s loving it.
he`s a very confident little fella as i think most MBK`s are and i`ve put extra hides and a big log and some silk greenery in there and he`s exploring it like mad.
i`ve also already fed him in there with no problems so i don`t think he`s stressed at all.
best of luck with him
