As long as you're prepared for a snake that MIGHT not be handleable because it stops feeding if you get it out.

I'm saying you have just as good a chance of getting one of the royals that will stop eating if you handle it as you have of getting a royal who will eat consistently and without hesitation in SPITE of being handled.

Royal pythons are shy snakes, fairly nervous, and in my experience of them are VERY easy to put off their food. Disturbing them by handling them (no snake definitely 'likes' it - some snakes tolerate it better than others) can make them so nervous they won't eat at all.

If you want a snake that is unlikely to go off food JUST because you're handling it then a dwarf boa is probably a lot better for you than a royal.

To sum up it has to:
-not be a corn
-not longer than 6feet
-relatively easy to care for
-good looking (wow factor XD)
so i'm thinking ball python?
Please help!
Im getting a garter snake (you probably guessed coz the name!) And Ive heard there the best starter snake,AND they dont have to eat dead mice/chicks EWWWWWWWW

Actually, a lot of garter snakes DO eat mice (and that's a bit healthier for them than a diet of feeder goldfish because feeder goldfish don't have suitable nutrition) - and I'd think a frozen/thawed dead mouse is a lot nicer to feed to your snake than a live fish. At least the dead mouse is beyond pain, stress and fear... the fish isn't.

For someone who wants to handle their snake, a garter isn't the best of starter snakes - they're VERY fast and very squiggly.
