I'd agree with that. My male was just over 6ft.....but then he was missing a few inches of tail. Apparently he escaped once for the previous owner (managed to get outside) and it come back very damaged so had to be operated on to remove it. They suspected a cat had got hold of it. Still it meant that I bought him cheap from a show

He was placid to start with, then one day he bit me and from then on he was nuts.

for that size why not get a BCI (Much heavier snake, but same length, on average)

Is an Indigo not a type of ratsnake?

I like everglades myself.

Nope, Indigo's are a family of snakes. They are a group of colubrids like the ratsnakes are but not the same.

Another vote for Blue Beauties - my 06s are 6ft and growing well. Very flighty but handleable and only get bitey if they get too warm.

Cave Racers are another option. Lovely snakes and I have met quite a few handleable adults. My 07 is fine - unless there is food around.

I do like Bull snakes a lot too , I had a big 7 footer in the 80's , but its definately a Rat snake of some kind that i'm after

Russian ratsnakes are cool and easy. Hope to breed mine soon.
Other than that I would go with the beauty snakes my female is looking for a male.
