i travel a bit and ones when i left for couple of days one of those yokes went mad. thanks god it was just two days other ways my python would be good for supper only. i have couple 25w bulbs and viv big enough to accommodate increase in temp. dont know what gonna do if python and boa gonna grow up tho!

Alinoee has stated that he/she doesn't keep his/her snakes in vivs - they have free run of an entire room.
That said, a snake that has access to an unstatted mat can still burn itself, whether it's in a viv or not. If the mat stat is set to 92 and the temperature on the mat (make sure you're measuring the surface temperature where the probe is) is only 70 degrees, then yes, there's probably a hiccup there. If the heat mat feels warm, then the thermostat is probably correct and the thermometer is probably what's wrong. Where is it positioned and what kind of thermometer is it?
