Taiwanese beauty snake wouldn't be an ideal starter snake. Although not overly defensive, like the blue beauty they are very fast and grow to around seven feet in males and around nine feet for females. Very powerful and beautiful snake but i would say an intermediate snake not a beginner

Cali King is a good starter snake. Some cracking morphs to choose from and reach a good handleable length at adulthood, around four to five feet. One thing wtih Cali's is they tend to musk a lot when young but soon outgrow this behaviour with a bit of maturity

I'd say the king too, my Taiwan beauty will never keep still and wont settle, and she's pretty strong at her length too. Very enjoyable to keep though

If you want a calm, easy to handle and care for snake then you can't beat a corn snake, and there available in a heap of different colour morphs, kings are good to.

Hi there, looking for a new snake is exciting but can you tell us what set up you have, viv size, heat source etc etc as these can help on you decision, lot of size difference between a Tai and a Cali king - and are you thinking of hatchling? Adult?
