hi ya i always offer the same day, a small item of food, she may not take it (no worries but worth a try) then its not worth trying until she has shed (which will be in only a few days after laying).

The easiest way is to feed after the post-lay shed. They are usually hungry then.

I always find my will eat the same day as they are ravenous but usually I give them a size or 2 down from what they usually have.

Mine often won't eat until they've shed but it certainly doesn't hurt to offer a day or too later, they will sometimes take it.. it depends too on when they last ate and what their appetite is like, or how quickly they go blue after laying. I usually go with a rat fluff or something a bit smaller.

If you MSN me please leave a message, don't just say "hi", I get a lot of MSNs every day from people I do not know, and I don't respond unless I know you, or you're asking a question / say what you want.

I always offer a small mouse after I have taken the eggs away as I think that after all that effort they need a bit of food inside them to regain some energy. If they don't eat it fine but they usually do. If it is more than 2 days later they don't as they are already in the shed cycle.
