not trying to sound silly but i have just brought a male royal who is heated with a heat mat in a 3ft viv, from reading on this forum i understand its better for him to be heated by ceramic. i just want to know if i get the idea!

i need a ceramic bulb holder, bulb, guard, and a pulse thermostat. am i right?

i might also go for a microclimate AHS heater, what do you think of these? i prefer the look of these if you lot agree this is a good idea?

yes u are right with what u need.
lot of people going for ahs these days but not sure yet myself. seems expensive and if 1 bit goes.....? . well im thinking of trying one out 1 day but happy with regular stuff atm
would i be wrong in saying that maybe anyone new to ceramics should learn to use the individual bits together first for some understanding? IM A GENIUS LOL

i know its different heating but many royals are kept on heatmats. 1 of mine is atm

I was a bit like that but when I got my 2 its been fine! I swaer they look at me like "what you fussing about?!?!? tshk!" people have different preferences for heating methods and each have their pros and cons. I use heatmats and they're fine for me but there are lots of pros (and cons) for using ceramic heaters, its just what you prefer and can afford!lol!
