thanks, can you tell im obsessed with calis? i have more than that, but not any pics yet

and mexis are loverly, im going to try and get a pair at doncaster next weekend.

i dont have a clue why he is fiesty, the reasons wont change with him being a mexi and not a cali, he may just be a fiesty snake, cleaning all mine out today i got bit 6 times, 4 by my carpet python she is only a baby so attacks anything she can see, and then i was holding a cali whilst texting someone, and she thought my finger moving was a mouse so she bit me twice! some snakes are just naturally fiesty though, and there isnt a reason behind it. i would say just keep handling him, he will calm down eventually.

although make sure you are keeping him in the correct conditions for a mexi, i think they are the same as a cali but just doube check.

no problem, glad i could help. and ye, ill end up getting more cali's, i think i have 15 at the moment, lost count really lol. ye they do go fast, but just keep handling him, let him calm down, and then when he is calm put him away. i have even used a snake hook to tame one, it was too fast to handle so it slithered away, and then got hooked back, it gave up in the end, and is now dog tame

has he been bred? has he been accidentally hurt whilst handeling? does he stoip attackign when you hold him, or just go and go until you put him down? are there any posibilities you think could of caused this? and other strange behaviour you have noticed? also how big is he, and what size food?

I don't see how "How big is he?" and "What size food?" can help with this, my suggestion is take him to a proffessional or a vet if you can afford it

well its to see if he is being fed the correct food size for the size of the snakes, if he says he is 5ft and on a pinky then its abvious he is hungry, it sounded like a feeding response so thats why i asked him. also younger snakes are more likley to be fiesty, so age and size helps work things out.

edit: also what would a vet do? inject it with a "be friendly" injection?
