Default HELP! What to feed baby garters?

My friends garter snake has just given birth and he has asked me what should they be fed, having never owned garters i'm not sure what should be fed to the young. He does not have the internet at the moment so i'm asking for him. Can anyone help?

chopped pinkies or things like chopped sprat. If he prefers pinkies then fish scenting them usually works.

Minced trout gets most garters going.

It depends on the species! Most garters are living rubbish bins and eat anything. Small worms are a great way to feed them.
When I bred chequereds the babies took whole small pinks straight away, and unscented.

Small worms to start them ... them chopped worms with slithers of trout ... and then move onto trout and pinkie halves .... garters have a high metabolic rate and you should offer the babies food every couple of days for the first month and then cut down to a feed every four days .... any garter advice can be answered here Garter Snake Forum
