Default probs with new royal

i recently got 2 cf royals and left them settle for a week or so, now ive started handling them the one that originally was the most snappy has settled right down, but the other is giving me trouble every time i go near her, i cant even walk past the viv without her striking at the glass. i understand she will take time to calm down but im unsure wether to persist with the handling or to leave her alone again for a while as she really gets in a state, and i feel like im making her worse by carrying on. havent touched her for 3 days now, was going to try again tonight

any ideas appreciated

Is it eating yet?

If not then don't handle it AT ALL.

It settles down naturally over time, royals aren't the kind of snakes that you should use the "annoy them till thye are used to you" method. you are making her worse, she needs to learn not to fear you all she's learning currently is that most of the time's she sees you she gets woken up and dragged out.

These things take time. Time NOT stressing the animal out by over handling it.

I'd leave it alone for at least another 2 weeks, with minimum disturbance possible, only change the water dish and the paper towel if soiled.

I would love to see your set up.......

How old are these snakes and are these two snakes in the same viv?.......I would seperate them......each snake needs it's own viv or rub, a heat mat for each viv controlled by a thermostat, two hides, a water bowl and a thermometer with a temp probe to measure the floor temprature......I would cover all three sides of the viv with something to make them fell more secluded.

ok delayed reaction but my computer busted.

both are late 07's, both are feeding and are housed seperately. the tubs are covered on 3 sides and stats are set to 30c. they have 2 dry hides each and 1 moist hide each, im not stupid just inexperienced with cf.

I would just let them relax and settle in. Get them feeding nicely then worry about handling. Good luck though.
