Default Question about breeding pythons

My local reptiel pet shop has got some royal pythons in at the moment and my friend has just bought a male from them. I want to buy a female so that in 3 or 4 years we can have a go at breeding them, but they come from the same clutch of eggs. If I get a female from this shop will there be a risk of deformities in the hatchlings or will they be OK?

Shouldn't be a problem. How do you think they get morphs?

i think considering how easy it is to get royals u should think about getting one elsewhere
i think u could breed them together, sure it will be better to start a new blood line tho

To be honest given that they are most probably captive farmed babies, the odds of them being related is thousands to one.

Thats a good point. If they were captive farmed and not clutch-mates there should be no problem. Anyway, as has been said, breeding back father to daughter, and vice-versa is what morphs are all about. Dont think it should be a problem.

Not all morph breeders breed their young back to the parents.... I for one am going to make as many morphs from as many different parents as I can, to prevent any risk of deformaty.

I'd just get one from somewhere else. I know people inbreed new morphs to see if there is a super form of that morph and for other similar reasons but it should be avoided where ever possible.
