Default Boa escaped...

Right so this may be long winded but here we go.

Sitting watching TV alls well, went to go out of my room and as i pass my new little boa's tub i decide to go look, can't see her. I think she's hiding so look a little further - still nothing. I pick up the tub and its a lot lighter. I'm worried, take off the lid and she's gone!

She'd just ate so i didn't want her to have much handling or anything so i was even more worried. Now i look on the floor and notice that a tub of meal worms is tipped over and they're all over. At this point i figure she's fallen off the viv i have her on temporarily, landed on the mealies and then decided to go somewhere else. So i'm trying to lift up the viv so the OH can see whether she's under that, no sign. I then pull everything off the bed and pull off the mattress pulling out all the boxes and looking inside each, no sign.

Then proceed to take everything out of every nook and cranny possible, again no sign. The doors shut and the gap underneath is really small so i figure its almost impossible for her to get out. As i push the viv out a bit to see behind it one of the buddha statues i have falls off and smashes (gutted) still searching nothing behind. Then i notice on a suit bag thing i have hanging up on the wall (on one of those dado rails?) i seem to have a tie sliding off... Lands with somewhat of a thud (bare in mind the top is about 6ft high) i look on the floor to see... Thats right the boa!

She's behind there so i pull the viv out and go to try and gently pick her up and put her into her tub again so she does regurge her meal. At this point she's all coiled up doing that "S" shape and i think she's going to strike, i seem to vaguely remember hearing putting a towel over them helps them calm (probably bs but i thought i heard it) so i put one gently over here and picked her up, as i was lifting she moved forward and most of her wasn't under the towel and whack on my hand no blood and no pain, almost like a head butt to be honest but i managed to get her back in and safe again.

She's now decided to coil up in her water bowl. She had a bit of trouble today with her meal as she went for it but missed it slightly so do you guys think she could be shedding hence the inside the water bowl and being a bit angry with me picking her up or do you think she was scared?

Again sorry for all the text lol

They are real escape artists. I suggest a couple of elastic bands round the ends of the tub to stop her doing it again.

Glad you got her back though.

Awwww, phew! I thought this wasn't going to end well But it did

Could be, might explain why she missed her strike if she cant see. Is she dull? When did she last feed?

Yeah its entirely my fault, i put tape down the sides to keep it down but today as i took it off to give it a wipe i totally forgot.

Well, she fed okay the last time i told you she did ash she was perfectly straight on hit at her last feed, her tail colouring has gotten a little lighter than it was i think but not exactly a huge amount of difference in her to be honest.

Ah, well I dont know loads about boas. But 6 weeks seems about right. My little ones were doing 4-5 weeks inbetween. So yeh, could be just going into shed now.

Thanks pal, nah she didn't regurge i just wanted to keep handling to a minimum in case she did, but thankfully not falling off the viv she was on, doing a little trek on the floor or being picked up and put away made her regurge so alls well that ends well.

Little bump to see whether others think she could be coming up to a shed?
