Default help with sick boa

hey guys hope you can advise me. iv just noticed that my boa had siliver around his mouth looked foamy. i'm gonna book him in at the vets tomorro. but my vet is on holiday till next week. any ideas of what this is or what i should do about it? cheers in advance

have you used any form of cleaner on his viv mate as they are prone to respiratory infections and that can be a major cause of it.

no i havent, he has just had mites but now they are gone, i used baby oil, but thats safe for babies so it must be for snakes.....cant think of what it could be, got the vets next week. ill txt you to let you know how he got on, he is loosing his scales, but i think thats just retained shed.....

hi, one way to find out about the scales...are they see through so to speak or full of colour (if you get me)!...if full of colour then there maybe a problem...
and as id point out im no expert...i would'nt of thought baby oil would be a good idea! would it be perfumed? which could irritate there respiratory track thingy! meaning R.I...just a thought! *shrugs* im sure someone could give a better opinion...but taking to vets sounds like a plan to be on safe side!...maybe up temps a bit aswell just to be safe, which may help!

there will be cover for the vet on holliday, and most likely your snake will need antibiotics or other medication, waiting is not a great idea..if its a RI then upping the temps to the top end of the recomended for the species can help.....but this is really a vet job.


and please do not assume that just because something is safe for a baby its safe for your snake.
