My thermostat for my corn snake is a mat stat. When the temp gets to 29c (85F) then it turns of but it doesn't turn on until the temp gets down to 23c its only at 23 for 10 mins is that okay.
By the way the sensor is in the correct place, lying on the substate. Me

Yeah, being a bit cool for a little while won't do half the damage being overheated can do, most stats do it - nothing really to worry about.

![]() Is the thermometer probe in the same place? Just odd how you're getting a drop of 6 degrees in the space of 10 minutes, mats normally hold heat quite well for longer than that when they've been heated up that much.
