Default I was thinking..

Well, I was thinking about all these animal rights groups trying to stop people keeping reptiles as pets.. What does everyone here think about it? Do you think they will stop us keeping reptiles eventually? Personally I think we are preserving a type of animal. In the wild snakes will be killed by other animals and eaten by large birds, and it's rare to find a snake that's over 5 years old in the wild unless it's something like a boa or a burm, something that can defend itself..

Even if they legally stop it, people are still going to own them, reptiles are too good to give up .. well that's my opinion on it anyway lol

I totally agree! Keeping a bird in a cage is probably more wrong than keeping a reptile! Birds fly far an wide, but most snakes curl up and hide.

Exactly! If the animal is kept correctly and is happy/healthy people need to accept it.. I could never understand why people do not like reptiles, they're beautiful living beings who just have a bad reputation ..I guess it's a lack of education because people cannot bother learning about them. grr. lol

The stickling point here is that caps and groups like it distort facts. Their not intrested in "why" people keep snakes, they just dont want anybody to be allowed too. The trumph card they play is the "snakes spread salmonella" card. All we need to do is -not release snakes into the wild, not go about displaying them in public, not make big thing bout feeding live, and dont let them get anything bad to use against us.
