Default getting my first corn snakes today

hey everyone im getting my first corn snakes today, theyre 7 months old and both female.
will they live together for the rest of their lives with out any problem or is it best to keep them apart. i know they have been living together fine so far but not sure if they will become terretorial or something.
also has anyone got any good names, im pretty sure there amel, one is slightly more red and the other is slightly more orange. will post pics when i get them in a few hours.
im buying them off someone who admitted he has not got enough time on his hands and wants to give them to a good home before he starts to ignore them, so i gave him £100 for everything. only problem is that he has no thermostat, he has a digital and analogue thermometer, just glad nothing serious has happened so far, do alot of people not use thermostats and how safe is it, i always thought it was dangerous

make sure you feed them apart from each other or there is a real danger of them both going for the same food item and eating each other or one snake smelling the mouse in the other snake and eating it.

if you're keeping them together you would probably be best to take them out to feed so that you know who's eaten what.
if you keep them together and one regurges then you might have a job to see which one it was, same thing if ones having any troubles passing waste and any illnesses could be passed from one to the other more easily.
also be sure that they are both female as if one isn't then they could start mating before the female is physically ready which could harm her.
you'll get some mixed replies to this as corns don't need to housed together due to needing company as they're not social animals although there's alot of people that do house them together with little or no problems.

get a plastic tub and use it as your 'feeding tub' if theyve been kept together up till now and no problems then you should be fine, but always separate them when feeding etc and just keep an eye for about 30mins after feeding..shouldnt be a problem.

Hi there. Congratulations on getting your new pals. Follow the advice bout seperating to feed, and they should be fine to keep together. Get a mat stat to control when heat mat switches on and of, better than just running it all the time. They not too expensive, bout £20...i think. Cant wait to see piccies.

just as a little side note, when you put one in a little tub to feed you may find it usefull to cover the tub with a cloth partly or fully or in a darkened room, i havnt kept corns for some time but found mine liked it that way.

Also be aware that a female is only guaranteed female once she has layed eggs for you. You could easily have 2 males or a male and a female, even if they have been probed. I'd split them up until they are old/big enough to breed, or you could end up with a female that is gravid much too young.
