Hi all i am biulding a royal rack next weekend and just need a few tips. i am using the contico range tubs for my hstchlings and sub adults and then an ikea tub for my adults. i will be making the rack out of wood and i will be using heat tape with a pulse prop thermostat. but was wondering do i need a thermostat per level or can i use one stat for a few levels? any other advice or pics of your own racks would be very much appreciated. thanks in advance for any help.

as long as the tub size and heat tape of the same wattage is used, then yes you can use the same stat...

if these alter you will require seperate stats to regulate the temps...

As long as the probe is in a suitable place to measure and maintain the correct temperature (inside a tub on top of the heat is the best place in my opinion) it will be okay for all of the tubs.

The stat will be okay for as many levels as reach the max wattage of the stat. A habitsat pulse prop stat is usually 600watts; so as you can imagine this would run a fair bit of heat tape.

Depending on the wattage of the heat tape, and the amount you use (how many connections it has to the stat) a 600watt stat should cover your rack.
