Default Brazilian Rainbow Boa

i have a male brb. trying 2 work out the age and would like to know if he is under weight coz i think he is. he is 29" long but only weighs 110g. can any1 tell me the age. i know alot of snakes grow long then fill out but he does seem 2 be quite skinny, it mite jst be because i have a young bci which makes the brb look small but hes having 2 adult mice each week so i cant see why hes not putting any weight on.

Put some pics up of him, then we can see if he looks underweight or not

Nah, he doesn't look underweight, but BRB's tend to throw on length first and fill out later, my early 06 is just now starting to put on the bulk that makes a baby snake look more "mature". I'd say 10-14mths old at that length and weight. Yours still has the slightly too-large head which he'll grow into over the next few years.

i have 2 different clutches of brazilians both born in november 07 and they range in weight from 70-135grams. One clutch lower in weight, one higher. The lower, was fed live, and i have had a hard time getting them to switch over, thus the lower weight i think. Bernie was right though, they do get to a point, which for me has been at about 1 year, when they suddenly go from growing like nothing, to really gaining on size.

at 110 grams though, is your eating 2 adult mice though? or were you talking about the BCI?

Hi
We have 2 BRB's. The female is almost 9 months old and is just 2ft and weighs 82 grams. The male is 5 days younger and is about 20" and weighs 52 grams.

From the pictures he looks fine, and i would hazard a guess at 12 - 18 months old.

Our female is on small mice and the male large fuzzies.

My male is mid - 07 and started as a dodgy feeder so he is a little underweight at 105g but is catching up quickly. Yours looks younger, being of similar weight to mine i'd say late 07 maybe? All depends on how he's been feeding really
