Not when they are on appropriate sized food. I wouldnt try feeded again for the full 5 days even if the food was too small, it may upset the digestion process. Wait for 5 days then feed them 2 each good luck

you want to feed them once a week on suitably sized food, what size/age are the royals in question?

Cheers and sorry for hijacking the thread.

You feed the first one, then once it has gone down, you offer then next.

if they are taking small mice at that size it sounds fine, just keep it up, I would say stick to every 7 days, and keep a record of thier weight, as long as they do not drop weight there is no reason to worry.

I would stick with the mice for now, maybe offer 2 next time they feed, but if they show no interest, stcik to what they are on, maybe after a couplf of feeds taking two then you can move them up to the next size.

just stick with the rule that it shoud be no bigger than the largest part of the snake.

Let him eat the first one, he will kind of stretch his neck to push it down, then he will proberly be on the move, get the other ready and he will strike for it if still hungry. Be carefull tho, once he has eaten the first one his "attack" response will be hightened, aka more likely to strike for u after picking up ur heat signals.

if they are hatchlings then small mice seem absolutly fine! most people feed between 5-7 days and this works really well for a hatchling. Mice have more fat than rats so stick with mice to put the weight on, rats are used becasue they are bigger prey for when the royal gets older and some royals prefer mice and wont make the switch but they can be fed on jumbo mice weekly when they are fully grown if they wont switch! If you want your royal to put on weight then stick with the mice as they are slightly fattier

1 small mouse will be fine for a royal, even up to 8-9 months old, you will get to learn your royals habbits-if it feeds well on 1 small mouse per week for a couple of months, move to a medium mouse, and so forth! feeding 2 items may overload the royal and stress them so they will be reluctant to feed and feel pressured to eat more-usually they like 1 item! you will be able to see how much your royal stretches and how well they are interested in food etc so just go with it! royals differ so much with feeding habbits and characters, you will soon learn what they want when!lol!
