Is the boa losing weight? Sometimes they just go on one due to their own personal reasons, my female BCI didn't eat from September till March just because she felt like it.

Live, well touchy subject for some and no it's not pleasant etc BUT you buy the snake to do all you can for it so if that means all it will eat is live then that's what it needs to be, it's catch 22 - you feed live a cutsey rat gets chomped, coiled then eaten and you have to watch it for the snakes safety but if you don't your snake slowly starves to death and eventually gets to the beyond help point.

I'm not saying you need to be livefeeding yet at all i'm just showing both sides of the story there, i'd honestly say though if it's not losing weight and is otherwise healthy don't worry too much - snakes do this sort of thing, if it is losing weight then i honestly would try live before assisting because assisting is stressful and if it doesn't work well then you have the risk of setting the snake further back and if your boa is a big one then assisting won't be easy at all.

Some of my livefeeders are quite good in the fact i offer 1 small live and they eat it then they'll take defrost straight after because they're in the mood for food.
