Can not see how a pure black is possible. The purest all black snake commonly available is the Mexican Black Kingsnake - Stunning.

With morphs you are generally isolating colours and removing those you don't want. With a blizzard you are using Amelanistic and Anerythristic B to remove all the other colours.

What do you need to make a blizzard, pretty irelevant, I know, sorry for hijacking the thread.

also, with regards to your question what about a mexi black x corn?

I know it wouldnt be a pure corn but wouldnt it make a black snake that looks like a corn?

Amel and Anery B = blizzard

Amel and anery A = snow

Something we had to go online to clarify last night after a friend came over puzzling about how snows turned up in a clutch.

"Forest" hybrids are not solid black - they look a lot like muddy jungles

That said, a second generation higher-king-content one might be MORE black.

I would actually think that if you wanted to produce a black cornsnake, what you'd do is combine charcoal with diffusion/bloodred, then selectively breed for the darkest animals. It'd take quite a few generations, but eventually you'd have silvery-black animals with white bellies... amazingly like a Black Ratsnake.

Or you could go the quicker route and just get a black ratsnake
