Default New Royal Question

Got 2 CB08 Royals yesterday with a temp setup given, in a smallish contico tub with heatmat.

Went to the rep shop today and got them new hides, waterbowl etc but Ive realised its too small to get the 2 hides I got in so will be buying a new tub.

What I was thinking though, Ive been told at the rep shop they'll be fine together, and was gona get a larger RUB big enough to get the 2 hides in, big waterbowl with a little space for them.

Should I keep them housed together or should I get them a RUB each? They seem fine just now and I will be getting them a RUB each in the future after a few months.

Also how soon should you handle them? As theyre still in the same tub theyve been in since day 1 I assumed theyre comfortable and both of them look it. When I opened the tub to check the temp, change water etc today they were both very lively trying to get out and me and my girlfriend took them for a handle and they loved it, didnt ball up and were crawling all over us.

I was also thinking about trying to get them to feed even though thats only 1 - 2 days Ive had them as they seem comfortable and they were due a feed today but was advised to wait 3 days.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Personally I would give them separate tubs. I also think you should read up some more caresheets.

hi you should really give them seperate tubs they are usually more happy this way and will generally feed a lot better. and you should'nt handle them untill they have excepted three meals on first offering otherwise you could stress them out and cause them to stop feeding, and give them about a week maybe 2 weeks to settle in before feeding they should feed by then and feel happy in there new home. if you cant get the hides to fit why not just use a small ice cream tub remember it only just needs to be big enough for them to squeeze into too big and they will not be happy inside it. hope this helps good luck

The size seem to be perfect for them I had a look in and can see that one is touching all the edges.

I've been reading up on them but opinions and advice given has been different wherever Ive asked, some people have said get 2 RUBS later, some say get them now. Most experienced people I've spoken to have said they will be fine in the same tub for a while. As I said I will be getting their own tubs in a few weeks/month.

i am just going on past experiences as far as being in the same tubs. all of my hatchlings are in seperate tubs because they seem to be a lot happier and allways feed when ever offered. what size rub have you got them in?

The RUB isnt too big but it seems to be perfect for their seize, it has a medium exo terra hide, large waterbowl with some roaming space but I'm going out first thing tomorrow to get a larger tub so I can get my other medium hide in so I have a hide at each end along with maybe a humid hide but I seem to have the humidity perfect just now so that wont be a rush, although it seems to be measuring higher than I want, measuring about 80% at the hot end but it will obviously be lower in the cool end
